Whenever any resolution of the council designates and describes any street or portion thereof (theretofore designated as a street or portion thereof the use of which is prohibited by any vehicle exceeding the maximum gross weight limit of three tons) as a street or a portion thereof, the use of which is no longer prohibited under this chapter, the prohibitions of this chapter shall no longer apply to such street or portion.
