Whenever any resolution of the council declares that all commercial vehicles shall be subject to the prohibitions of this chapter, the chief of police shall erect appropriate signs indicating the streets and vehicles affected, and thereupon and thereafter the prohibitions, exceptions and all other provisions of this chapter shall be applicable to any commercial vehicle in addition to any vehicle exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of three tons.
