A. Within fifty days after the filing of the tentative map, the planning commission shall hold a public hearing thereon, shall recommend approval, conditional approval or disapproval of said map and shall make a written report to the city council.

B. At the next regular meeting of the city council following the filing of the planning commission report, the council shall set a public hearing date at which the tentative map shall be considered, which date shall be within thirty days thereafter, and the city council shall approve, conditionally approve, or disapprove the tentative map within such thirty-day period.
